Ganesh Chaturthi has already begun. The lord of wisdom and happy beginnings is worshipped all over India during Ganesh Chaturthi. But, this festival is hugely celebrated especially in Maharashtra where almost every household brings home a Ganesh idol during this festival. The idol is worshipped for ten days and the festival culminates on the day of Anantha Chaturdashi when the idol is finally taken and immersed in river waters. 

There's this song "Tujhko apna jalwa dikhana hi hoga" already on my mind! We all gear up for the festive season around. There's so much done yet so much to be accomplished. I mean the decorations for Ganesh pandal, sweets and all other arrangements that are done during this festival. Everyone welcomes Ganesha in their homes with great gusto. There are Colors, dances, merry-making, singing and a lot of excitement among devotees to welcome Lord Ganesha in their homes. Pandals are set up in societies, which form a common worship point for all individuals around for the Ganpati festival.

The festival concludes with the immersion of Ganesh idols in serene waters. And we all know that this causes a lot of water pollution. On a personal front, we would like to urge you to please use eco-friendly colours and substances for Ganesha idols as there's too much toll on our rivers. The numbers in which the idols are immersed in waters is huge and it causes a great disaster for the aquatic life there. So it's our deepest request to you to please celebrate this festival keeping sustainability in mind. Last year we heard about people who made idols using rice, which was creative and indeed very much environment-friendly. Moving on to the galore that's about to come up. There are a lot of wishes that are exchanged during these ten days. Here's a list which you can either download or save so that you wish your loved ones on time! There is great zeal and enthusiasm among devotees of Lord Ganesha. They wish each other on this auspicious occasion hoping prosperity for everyone around.
